How to send SMS messages with SleepPRO™
Integrations
Text messages are a gentle nudge parents notice, such as a reminder the day before their consultation. SleepPRO™ sends SMS through Twilio.
Step 1: connect Twilio
See How to integrate your Twilio account with SleepPRO™.
Step 2: create SMS templates
- Click SMS in the top menu, then SMS templates.
- Click Create.
- Name your template.
- Choose the sender type:
- Sender phone number: a phone number in your Twilio account.
- Alphanumeric sender ID: your business name, for one-way messages.
- Messaging services: a Twilio service which picks the best sender for each country.
- Write your message, and add personalization, such as the parent's first name.
- Click Save.
Personalization changes the length of the final message, and so the cost. Messages can be up to 1,600 characters.
Step 3: send automatically
With an automation rule:
- Go to Automations, then Rules, and click Create.
- Add a trigger.
- Add the action Send SMS and choose a template. Click + to create a new template, or the pencil to edit one.
- Save the rule.
With a workflow:
- Go to Automations, then Workflows, click Create, name it and click Save.
- Open the workflow and add a trigger.
- Click + and choose Add action, then Send SMS, and pick a template. Edit or create templates from here too.
- Click Exit, then click the three dots next to the workflow and choose Activate.
Step 4: track your SMS
Open Statistics under the SMS menu to see the total sent, the average delivery rate and the average failure rate, plus a list of sent messages. Click a template for details per message: delivery status, phone numbers, dates and links.
SMS costs and delivery are handled by Twilio, depending on your country and plan.
Add a phone number field to your forms to collect parents' numbers.
