How are the different course access types different?

Courses

You can give students access to your course in four ways.

  • Full access: every module and lecture straight away. Delays are ignored.
  • Drip content: modules and lectures open gradually, based on your delays.
  • Partial access: only the modules you choose.
  • Partial access with drip: only the modules you choose, and the lectures inside them open gradually.

Setting a delay

When you create a lecture, set how many days it stays locked. The delay counts in days from the previous lecture. To release one lecture a day, set each delay to 1 day.

Make sure your lectures are activated. See How to remove the "No lectures yet" message from your course.
Expiration delays do not work with drip content. They only work with full access. See How to sell an online course.

Changing a delay

With drip content, if you change the delay of a lecture which has not opened yet, SleepPRO™ recalculates the wait based on the new delay.

For example, a module has 3 lectures, each with a 1 day delay. Two days after enrolling, lectures 1 and 2 are open and lecture 3 opens tomorrow. You change lecture 3 to 5 days. Lecture 3 now opens 5 days after lecture 2.

The schedule updates as long as the lecture has not opened yet. A change can push back a lecture even when it was about to open.

Partial access with drip

Students only move through the modules in their access, and lectures keep opening on your schedule.

Example 1, tiered offers from one course: your course has 10 modules and a 7 day drip.

  • A starter offer gives partial access with drip to modules 1 to 5, with a new lecture every 7 days.
  • The full offer gives drip content access to all 10 modules.
  • An upgrade offer opens modules 6 to 10 for starter buyers, and continues the same 7 day rhythm.

Example 2, modules which are not in a row: your course drips one module every 7 days, and a student has modules 1, 3 and 5. Module 1 opens on enrollment, module 3 seven days later, module 5 seven days after module 3.

Example 3, upgrading mid-drip: a student buys an upgrade before their first modules finish dripping. The new modules start after the current drip sequence ends, with the same delays.

With a specific access date, the drip starts from this date.
Expiration always wins. Access ends on the expiry date, even if content is still dripping.
When you switch a student between partial access types, their progress is kept where possible. Content they already opened stays open.
