How to create a Google Postmaster Tools account for your domain
Email deliverability
Google Postmaster Tools shows how Gmail treats your emails: your sender reputation, spam rate, delivery errors and more. Many parents use Gmail, so this view is valuable. Setting it up also lets the SleepPRO™ team look at your data when helping you with deliverability.
1. Create your account and verify your domain
You need a Google account. Create one if you do not have one.
- Log in and open the Google Postmaster Tools dashboard.
- Click Select a domain, then Manage domains.
- Click Add a new domain, enter your domain without https:// or www (for example yoursleepbusiness.com) and click Create.
- Click Back and check your domain shows in the list.
- Scroll the table to the right, click the three dots and choose Validate domain.
- The window shows a TXT record and a CNAME record. You only need to add one of them.
Option a, a TXT record. At your domain provider, add a new record:
- Type: TXT
- Name or Host: @
- Value: the verification code from Google.
Save it, go back to Google Postmaster Tools and click Validate.
Option b, a CNAME record. At your domain provider, add a new record:
- Type: CNAME
- Name or Host: the host from Google.
- Value or Target: the target from Google.
Save it, go back to Google Postmaster Tools and click Validate.
2. Give the SleepPRO™ team access
Access is given per domain.
- On the Manage domains page, find your domain.
- Scroll the table to the right using the scroll bar under the table, click the three dots and choose Manage users.
- Click New user at the top right.
- Enter support@sleeppro.io and click Add.
