How to authenticate your domain name for email sending
Email deliverability
Authenticating your domain tells Gmail, Outlook and other providers you are allowed to send email from it. It is the single most important step for getting your emails into parents' inboxes.
You will need your own domain, such as yoursleepbusiness.com.
Step 1: get your records in SleepPRO™
- Hover over your profile picture and click Settings, then Emails in the left menu.

- Under the Domains section, click Setup domain authentication.

- Enter your domain without www, for example yoursleepbusiness.com.
- Click Save.

- Your domain now shows in the Domains section. Click the eye icon under DNS settings to see your records.

- SleepPRO™ shows three CNAME records (1 to 3) and one DMARC record (4). You add all four at your domain provider.

A domain can only be authenticated in one account. Once it is authenticated, it is removed from any other account where it was still pending. Adding a domain already authenticated elsewhere shows an error.
Authentication is required to send emails from SleepPRO™.
Your domain needs a working website. If it leads to an error page, email providers may block your emails.
Free email domains, such as Gmail, Yahoo or ProtonMail, cannot be authenticated. Only your own domain can.
Step 2: add the records at your domain provider
Log in where you bought your domain. The example below uses GoDaddy, and most providers work the same way. You will find step by step guides for other providers in this category. Stuck? Your provider's support team can help.
For each of the three CNAME records:
- Open your domain, click DNS records, then Add new record.
- Choose CNAME.
- In Name, paste the name from SleepPRO™, keeping only the part before your domain. If SleepPRO™ shows si942517.yoursleepbusiness.com, enter si942517.
- In Value, paste the value from SleepPRO™ and add a full stop at the end.
- Click Save.
For the DMARC record:
- Choose TXT.
- Name: _dmarc
- Value: paste the value from SleepPRO™. It looks like v=DMARC1; p=none; rua=mailto:you@yoursleepbusiness.com
- Click Save.
Step 3: check your records
- Open DNS Checker (dnschecker.org) and enter the full name of each CNAME record, including your domain.
- A green tick next to the right value for all three records means your domain is authenticated.
- A red result means something is off. Check your DNS settings. Still stuck? Contact SleepPRO™ support with a screenshot of your DNS records.
- Check your DMARC record with a DMARC checker, by searching your domain.
Contact SleepPRO™ support once you have added your records, so the team can confirm everything is in place.
To send from your authenticated domain, confirm your sender address too. See How to confirm your email sender address.
