How to connect your Namecheap subdomain to SleepPRO™
Connect a domain
Here is how to connect a subdomain of a domain at Namecheap, such as courses.yoursleepbusiness.com.
First add your subdomain in SleepPRO™, as described in step 1 of Integrating your subdomain with SleepPRO™. Each subdomain gets its own CNAME records.
First CNAME record
- In Namecheap, go to Domain list and open the Advanced DNS tab of your domain.
- Click Add new record and choose CNAME Record.
- Enter your subdomain, such as courses, in Host.
- Enter the first value from SleepPRO™, ending in cloudfront.net, with the full stop at the end, in Value.
- Click the green tick.
A CNAME record with this name already there? Edit its value instead.
Second CNAME record
- Click Add new record and choose CNAME Record.
- In Host, paste the code from SleepPRO™ which comes before your domain, starting with an underscore and ending with your subdomain.
- In Value, enter the second value from SleepPRO™, ending in acm-validations.aws.
- Click the green tick.
Check your records
Go to dnschecker.org and enter the full name of each record, including your domain. You should see your value with a green tick. If not, review your DNS settings.
DNS changes take 24 to 48 hours to spread fully.
If Namecheap will not save a record because of a conflict, usually with the first CNAME, ask Namecheap support whether the existing record is needed or can be removed.
