How to add a DMARC record on Namecheap
Email deliverability
Adding a DMARC record is one of the last steps in authenticating your domain. Here is how to add it at Namecheap, with the policy set to none. You will find the values in the SleepPRO™ popup with your DNS records.
- Log in to Namecheap and open Advanced DNS for your domain.
- Add a new record and choose TXT.
- In Host, enter _dmarc.
- In Value, enter your DMARC value, for example v=DMARC1; p=none; rua=mailto:reports@yoursleepbusiness.com
- Click the green tick.
Your domain can only have one DMARC record. If an old one exists, delete it and keep only the new one.
Email providers such as Gmail and Yahoo send a daily report to the address after rua=mailto:. Use a separate address on your domain for these, so your main inbox stays calm.
Reports arrive as raw data. See DMARC reports: how to read and use them. Need help reading them? Contact SleepPRO™ support.
Check your record by searching your domain at mxtoolbox.com/dmarc.aspx.
Your DMARC record helps receiving servers recognize your genuine emails, and the reports show you whether all of them pass authentication.
